Small Tasks

A moment of clarity, pertaining to the need of breaking down large tasks.

I have a large project I’m trying to finish. I decided to do just a subsection of it. After about the halfway point on that subtask, I decided to pull back and start working on the entire project.

Then I stopped. Then I started reading other things. The task became harder, even though it really isn’t. It just seemed like it, because I over-think, I over-optimize. I lost interest. I got lazy.

Even after I write this, and have that exact feeling, I wonder if I’ll ever learn…

If you have something you want to do, and you still haven’t started it, break it down even further. Need to build the next greatest thing ever? Start with one goddamn keystroke.

I hated Skype for a while, and this is just yet another addition to the shit list. I want to move away from this like I moved away from AIM. Is it just murmur/mumble at this point? I don’t know much about Asterisk but does that do something?

With HOTS, I’m sure the active ladder population went up. Since Masters is top 2%, that would mean that there are more slots available. I also thought that this also meant it was going to be harder to get up there… but now I think about it, there’s going to be many more nooblets playing…

Not extremely intuitive how to delete an alarm in this view. A little let down that I cant figure out a gesture that will let me delete without going into “Edit”, which didn’t seem like the right place for it.

That’s right.

I found out that the T-Mobile/AT&T deal fell apart a lot later than I should have. I didn’t even know I was supporting the good fight, but instead was just sad that I was somehow still fueling the idiots at AT&T.

The bullshit has to end. Telcos are slowing down innovations.
