Adobe Lightroom 2: List Of Stuff

It doesn’t to png. “No photos were found to import.” I need to store my screenshots. There goes that.

You can’t drag and drop jpgs anywhere else but the Library “tab”. Makes sense if you think about it, but instinctively, why can’t I just bunch images and throw it at the app? I guess you can drop it into the icon, at least.

I’m still not getting how to use their version of “Folders”. I think it’s for people who don’t copy the photo to let Lightroom take care of the filesystem level settings, but I’m not sure. Folders also don’t update automatically, it seems…

It’s a bit slow and I really don’t like the Adobe controls… fells too much like an AIR app, and that’s just me hating on AIR.

Lightroom seems to save the original to a directory of your choice, but all the changes are saved to a completely unopenable file in your ~/Pictures/Lightroom folder. Heck, I don’t even know how to change this folder location.

BUT:

You can save your metadata down to the file, and there is much more editing you can do there.

Oh sexy multiple display support… wow, that’s cool.

Oh wow, and the file renaming is very smartly done (F2, so simple). And the fact that you can take the metadata that you’ve created while within Lightroom and take it down to the file level… so happy.

This app really isn’t for me. I don’t take pictures for actual picture-y things. Although I do love the renaming, I can’t justify moving my pictures here. I can’t use it for screenshots anyway.
