Why is this such a fascinating topic for me?

As with many of my obsessions, it’s probably because it’s so different from what I’m used to experiencing.

I probably wouldn’t be this interested if I was brought up in Korea. Maybe if I did that, I’d be much more interested in the European languages. My four year run with Latin in high school is just a faint memory now, but I probably could bust out of declensions and conjugations if I needed to.

But alas, I must be hipster in all the things that I do. Too mainstream, and I’ll have to think twice about what I’m doing, what I’m striving to be.
